Why Goats and Sheep?
In the Bible, both sheep and goats are used to reflect the human heart.
Sheep are known for following. They stay close to the shepherd, listen for his voice, and move together in trust.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
— John 10:27 (KJV)
Goats, however, are independent grazers. They wander, explore, and often choose what looks good rather than what is good. Not because they are evil—but because they are curious, stubborn, and easily distracted.
That’s where Little Grazing Goat comes from.
Like a goat, I don’t always stay where I should. I graze at unhealthy habits, make poor choices, and drift—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Yet Scripture reminds us that wandering is part of the human story.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way.”
— Isaiah 53:6 (KJV)
Jesus spoke of both sheep and goats in His teachings—not to condemn, but to reveal the importance of discernment, obedience, and fruit.
“And he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.”
— Matthew 25:32 (KJV)
Both animals belong to the pasture. Both need a Shepherd.
Little Grazing Goat is about learning to graze better—
choosing what brings life,
staying close to the Shepherd,
and growing one step at a time.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
— Psalm 23:1 (KJV)
About Little Grazing Goat
Little Grazing Goat was born out of a season that forced me to slow down.
After a health setback, I began to take a hard look at my daily habits, my faith, and the quiet ways I had drifted—physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I realized I wasn’t lost, but I was scattered. Eating what was easy instead of what was good. Rushing instead of listening. Wandering instead of resting.
That’s where the image of goats and sheep comes in.
In Scripture, sheep are known for following the shepherd’s voice. Goats, while not evil, are independent grazers—curious, stubborn, and prone to wandering. I see myself in both.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way.”
— Isaiah 53:6 (KJV)
Little Grazing Goat is not about labeling people as sheep or goats. It’s about recognizing the human tendency to drift and learning—slowly and honestly—how to graze better.
This site is a personal journey of faith, recovery, and better choices. It is not medical advice, not a place of judgment, and not a claim of spiritual authority. It is simply one person walking the pasture, learning to stay near the Shepherd.
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
— John 10:27 (KJV)
If you’ve ever felt scattered, tired, or unsure of your next step, you’re welcome here.
Still learning.
Still grazing.
Still under His care.
